A group of our elderly statesmen have finally replaced the lid on Owlet Hole, Matlock Bath. As usual the steelwork was manufactured by Len (CCPC consultant engineer and general dogsbody). This old lead mine has one of the best examples of mining by "fire setting" in The Peak District and if you want a free entry in to Gullivers Kingdom this is the place. Access is uncertain (PDMHS) but as the team still have to repair the ladders on the entrance pitch and finish stabilising a LARGE boulder that threatens to seal off a passage (including anyone in it!) you should be able to gain access by giving a hand.
