Foot Ascender
Part of the SRT, or Single Rope Technique kit, which is used to overcome vertical drops, using a single rope to descend and ascend. Sometimes known as a foot jammer. A sliding rope clamp, attached to one boot. Not essential, but a useful addition to the standard SRT rig, which allows the caver to walk up the rope, one foot at a time, rather than "frog" climb. The most common model is the Petzl Pantin, but there are a variety of models of foot jammer. available.
