Oversuit and Undersuit

The oversuit protects the caver from abrasion from rock and mud. Helps keep them warm and provides varying degrees of waterproofing. Underneath, but not visible in the picture, is worn a one piece fleece suit, which provides warmth. It loses its insulating properties when immersed in water, but drains quickly to restore most of its insulation. For very wet caves where the caver is immersed in cold water for long periods, neoprene wetsuits are still used. There are a variety of oversuits, undersuits and wetsuits available.
